Information Technology in Nursing Education. A Problem in Perspective
David Jenkins
Barbara Green
This paper sets out some of the difficulties and problems in delivering biological sciences to nursing students, it focuses on setting up a system to deliver course materials, using current ‘computer technologyí, internet World Wide Web (WWW) as the means of delivery. The department has experienced problems in teaching biological science. The debate about the extent to which this subject should be taught is very topical. There is neither consensus nor research on the appropriate content and depth of biological science knowledge required by nursing students. Neither is there agreement about the way in which biological science should be taught. To address this problem a research project was undertaken to investigate the perceptions of pre-registration students and teaching staff of the teaching and learning of biological science .
